Scope of Work & Bid Worksheet

Gutters & Downspouts

The tree tore the gutter line off the front of the house. This page funds the complete front run — 95.92 linear feet, gutters and new downspouts both.

What happened here

The tree came down across the front of the house and caught the eave on its way. Two runs of gutter were displaced and deformed — one at the south end of the east-facing slope, one at the west end of the south-facing slope over the entry. The fascia, soffit and the trim behind those runs were damaged with them.

Unlike the roof, the held-back depreciation on this work is recoverable. Finishing it releases the rest of the money, so there is no reason to under-scope it.

The fascia and soffit behind these gutters are funded on their own page. They are not in the figure on this page. The adjuster's notes put part of that trim on the rebuilt garage — “front rakes on 2nd level and on main level garage” — so it is priced with the siding, on the Siding & Trim worksheet.

If you want the gutters and the trim together, quote both pages and say so. They can be awarded as one job; doing the fascia while the gutters are down is the sensible sequence. Just keep them on separate lines so each can be matched to the insurance estimate.

Bid Worksheet

This worksheet is offered as a tool, not a requirement. Use it if it helps you work up your quote — or ignore it entirely and bid in your own format. Nothing here obligates you to price line by line, to match these figures, or to submit anything on this form. The figures are shown so you know the budget before you spend time on an estimate.

If you'd like to use it: enter your price per line in the amber column. The Over / (Under) column and the totals update as you type. Your entries stay in your browser — nothing is sent anywhere, and nobody else sees them.

Three things that decide the bid

1

Price the complete run

The funded line covers 95.92 linear feet — the whole front gutter line, not a section of it. A quote for part of the front cannot be compared against this figure. If you believe the run measures differently, say so and give your own number.

2

New downspouts, not re-hung ones

The insurance line reads “gutter and downspout — new downspouts are funded and expected. Please don't price around reusing the existing ones; if there is a reason to keep them, flag it rather than quietly carrying it.

3

Guards on their own line

Gutter guards are not covered by the insurance at all. They are an upgrade paid out of the owner's own pocket. Price them separately so the cost is visible, rather than folded into a gutter price.

Coordinating with the other trades

The roof. The tree-damaged roof sections are priced on the Roof page. If you do both, say so — they can be awarded together, and doing the fascia while the gutters are down is the sensible sequence. Just keep the pricing on separate lines so each can be matched to the insurance estimate.

The garage. Part of the fascia and soffit on this page belongs to the rebuilt garage, per the adjuster's own note — so this page and the garage scope have to be read together. The garage’s own gutter and downspout run is not funded in the figures here; ask if you want to quote that as well.
